Hope Cardi/Vest -- Free Pattern!

Hope Cardi/Vest
Size is determined by gauge, see Gauge below.
WARNING! You are going to have to do a gauge swatch on this one.

MATERIALS
Worsted weight yarn, 600-800? yards
Use the needle size that gets you the gauge that you need for the size that you want, but use a needle one size smaller for the cast on and first 6 rows.

Gauge: In Stockinette stitch,
If you work this to a gauge of 14 sts to 4" (3.5 sts= 1"), it will give you a finished measurement of 48
1/2"
If you work this to a gauge of 15 sts to 4" (3.75 sts =1"), it will give you a finished measurement of 45
1/3"
If you work this to a gauge of 16 sts to 4"
(4 sts =1"), it will give you a finished measurement of 42 1/2"
If you work this to a gauge of 17 sts to 4" (4.25 sts =1"), it will give you a finished measurement of 40"
If you work to a gauge of 18 sts to 4" (4.5 sts =1"), it will give you a finished measurement of 37 3/4"
If you work to a gauge of 19 sts to 4" (4.75 sts =1"), it will give you a finished measurement of 35 3/4"
If you work to a gauge of 20 sts to 4"(5 sts =1"), it will give you a finished measurement of 34"

With smaller size needle, cast on 93 sts.
Rows 1-6: Knit across.

M1
(make one) increase is made by taking the right-hand needle and picking up the strand between the stitches from back to front, slip left-hand needle into the front of this stitch on right-hand needle and knit through the back loop

This is a lovely design that is perfect for all year. I made mine in TLC Cotton Plus by Red Heart. It can be worn with a cute tank top or short sleeved T-Shirt in warmer weather.
