Austrian Stitch Cardigan
This is my latest favorite sweater. Where the Civil War shawl started my love affair with lace knitting, this sweater has started my love affair with Austrian/Bavarian Traveling Stitches. I did not photograph the back, but it is just as lovely as the front. You can purchase this pattern from Harrisville Designs. Yesterday, I ordered a 3 book volume on this technique. I had to get them from Germany Ebay, but purchased them for a great price. They are not available in the US, out of print. I would love to do a book using this technique. I have some rust colored wool that is waiting to be made into a cardigan using this stitch. Also, I have some dark heather grey wool waiting for another vest for my hubby. As soon as, I get my books......
