I have finished the lace weight shawl that I started on vacation. Now, I get to play with my new Tatamy Tweed Worsted. I knit a gauge swatch last night. It is very nice yarn and has a great feel to it. I have about 7" of the cable band completed for my cardigan. This will be great portable knitting until I have to pick up stitches and knit down.
This is a photo of my lace weight shawl unblocked. I will block it and photo it again. I love this process. It takes a piece of shapeless ordinary knitting and makes it a work of art. It is smaller that I had wanted, but I only had 1000 yards of the yarn. I made it for someone who loves Autumn colors like me.
I can't wait to show you the magic of a blocked shawl. I wanted a shawl that did not have a point in the middle of the back. Who wants something pointing out the largest area on their body?
