Remember the Little Knits Trenna Shawl contest that I entered? Well, there were about 24 entries. They narrowed them down to 6. Then something happened and it is now down to 5. I am one of them. They have revealed 3 on Ravelry. Only 2 more to go. Mine is one of those 2. I am so nervous and anxious that I can hardly stand it!!!
When I entered the contest, I didn't think I would get this far. Don't get me wrong, I know lace and am good at designing it. But I heard that Fleegle had entered it, too, and I thought that really hindered everyones chances. If you have ever looked at her blog, you would understand. The woman is a lean, mean, lace knitting machine. The things she does with tiny yarn and needles is pure art!
Anyway, this contest was a great excuse for me to try Schaefer Trenna. ( I really needed an excuse to buy more yarn). I loved the yarn. This yarn was meant for beads. If it could be made any more perfect, it would be to use beads. This was my first use of beads in knitting. To me, it was an effort to place the beads. Many times during the knitting, I wished that I could get lost in the luxury of this yarn, but I had to keep my wits for the sake of the bead placement. When I finished it, I was so glad that I had persevered with the beads. The beads gave it an even greater elegance. I felt so pampered when I wore it. I figured that the worse that could happen with this contest is that I would get the shawl back and get to wear it. Either way, it was going to be good.
I'll let you know how the contest goes.

My dear, relax. I didn't finish Hanabi in time, so I didn't even enter the contest. I am sure your entry will be well-received--it is lovely.
Good luck! Finger crossed!
Oooh, can't wait to hear! Best of luck!
Did you wear this shawl to church before you had to ship it off? I want to see it!!!
Yes Gina, I did wear it to church. It felt so wonderful on. The drape of the yarn and the beads was so perfect. It was in lovely shades of coral red, orange and orange yellow. The beads were the darkest red. Definitely my colors.
Breath deep! I have a good feeling...
This is reallyreally exciting, Kay!
Just saw your shawl on the Littleknits website-- it's gorgeous!
