It takes a real man to be a Father.

Happy Father's Day to my husband, Michael.
Father's Day used to be really hard for me. I did not have the blessing of a godly father. The truth is that it takes a real man to be a father. Anyone can produce a child, that is the easy part. The hard part begins after the birth of that child and continues all through that child's life.
Now on Father's Day, I look at the blessing that God gave me and Ben in my husband. He has been a wonderful father to our son, Ben. Michael had the blessing of a good father in Poppy. Poppy was not perfect and neither is Michael. Only our heavenly Father is perfect. But Poppy was a very hard worker, good provider, a strong individual who was always there as a father. There was not much that Poppy had not put his hand to. If he needed to, he would learn a new skill and most things he mastered. I always had faith in the fact that Poppy would know how to fix something. He passed that skill set on to Michael. My husband is really good at almost everything. Since we own an old house, that has been a tremendous blessing on our budget.
A real man leads his family in righteousness, by example. He loves and cherishes his wife. He works hard, he provides, he walks in integrity. In his walk as a father, he is answerable to God. I thank God for my husband and the work that God has done in his life and the blessing that God's work has been to our family.
I thank God for Poppy and the part that he played in molding my husband into the man that he has become.
Even though I miss Poppy, I am truly blessed this Father's Day to have the love of my Michael, Ben's father.

Psalm 1
Blessed is the man
Who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly,
Nor sits in the seat of the scornful;
But his delight is in the law of the Lord,
And in His law he meditates day and night.
He shall be like a tree
Planted by the rivers of water,
That brings forth its fruit in its season,
Whose leaf also shall not wither;
And whatever he does shall prosper.
The ungodly are not so,
But are like the chaff which the wind drives away.
Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the judgment,
Nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous.
For the Lord knows the way of the righteous,
But the way of the ungodly shall perish.

I know that most of my readers are women, so ladies, I want to admonish you to love and respect your husband. If you do not, your children will not. Pray for your husband, let him know that you are praying for him. And, please pray for our country and its families.
