Local Yarn Store Day

Tuesday is my "visit the local yarn store" day. Our LYS has moved to a bigger space and is so conducive to "sitting and knitting". What better relaxation than to knit and visit with knitters. We are a unique breed. I sometimes feel this is our version of the old quilting bees from the pioneer days. Women were more connected then. I think connecting is something we are no longer good at. We have such busy lives and sometimes it is just another obligation to get together. Women need other women. I thank God for the women in my life. My care group (church small group) ladies are the best. My friends hold me accountable. They don't coddle me. When I need it, they give me a swift kick in the rear. Believe me, I really need that quite often (right, Kathie?). And, NO, my self esteem is not hurt by this. I am a down-to-earth person. I need to be told the truth, in love. Proverbs 27:6 -- Faithful are the wounds of a friend, but deceitful are the kisses of an enemy. WOW? How did I get on that soap box? Call a friend and let them know how thankful you are for them and don't forget your husband. He should be your VERY best friend.

This sounds like something I'd like to do-IF I could knit! You'll have to teach me! I can crochet a little, maybe you should teach me more about that!Bring something you can teach me on next time you come down.
