Ready for road trip knitting!

I love road trips! Why? Road trip knitting! I have several projects packed and ready to knit. My yarn came in for my Autumn Leaf Pi Shawl. It is Knitpicks ShadowLace in the color Campfire, a warm butterscotch. I have it worked up past the double pointed needle stage. This will be the main thing that I knit on.
My "winding road" knitting (anyone that knows KY, knows that there is a lot of this) will be a large knitted tote that I will felt. I am making it in Navy blue and Burgandy stripes. It is VERY large. I have worked the bottom and have the body stitches picked and ready to knit.
I, also, am taking a couple of sock yarns (dk weight) and a margarine tub with metallic yarn and beads. I came across this podcast on how to make a bead soup bracelet and am dying to try it. It will be my "light, portable" knitting. I have the beads threaded on and ready to knit.
Now I am off to figure out what to wear on this trip.
Knitting progress--side tracked with getting my trip knitting ready, so not much progress made on my Arkansas Diamonds Shawl. I would love to be able to take it and finish it, but the thought of keeping track of a tub of loose beads and a tiny crochet hook does not sound like a lot of fun. I am almost finished with a Button Wrap that I have been working on (for too long) and finished one sock with weekend.

Have a lovely trip! Ours ended about an hour ago--27 hours to Bangkok. First surgery is tomorrow. Fingers crossed.
