Busy, busy, busy...

I have been very busy since I last posted. I finished the shawl I was weaving, I had a spinning day at a local Harvest Festival, and many other things. Last week, I was busy getting ready for another visit to Silver Dollar City for a spinning demonstration. Michael and I went by ourselves. Ben had exams all week and could not come with us. It was cold in Branson! I was sick battling allergies and I was very thankful for my thermal underwear, fingerless gloves and thick Autumn Leaf Pi Shawl. Here I am spinning in front of Donna's loom that Gary made her.

This week is looking busy, too. Now that I have the shawl off my loom, I have to rewarp it with cotton for dishtowels. First I have to warp the other loom with the warp that is on the warping reel, so that I can use it to wind the warp for the dishtowels. It is a vicious cycle!
On the family front, I want to share a photo of my new son. Ben has had long hair for about 6 years. He decided he wanted it cut off. I was not real thrilled. It had been so long since he had short hair and I was afraid that he would hate it. I was very surprised and pleased at the results.
Here he is at his graduation with his long hair....
Here he is with his new do....
Knitting progress: I don't know if I have a lot of knitting to tell about. I have been a pollinating knitter for a while, flitting from project to project and not real enthused about any of them. I ripped and reworked 1/2 of one of the fronts of my Michael's Cardigan vest, I finished 2 socks, not a pair but 2 separate socks of different yarns. Now I have 2 cases of second sock syndrome. I halted my knitting on the Lavender Fields Shawl. I did not think the thickness of the yarn complimented the lace knitting. I ordered beads for a lace weight version and they were not the right shade of purple, so now I have to go to my local bead store and see if they have the color I need in the size I need. I designed and made a knitted version of my Snake Puppet Scarf.
I worked a few rows on my Ozark Autumn remake. I bought yarn for Poppy's Cardigan Vest, some yummy Cascade 220 heather yarn in a lovely shade of darkish taupe. As soon as I finish my Michael's, I will start Poppy's. I have much Christmas knitting to start and finish. Both Ben and Michael need a pair of felted clogs for warm winter house wear.
Traveling Shawl progress--It has arrived at our CT person and should be passed on to our RI person this week! 9 States down, 41 to go! Check out our blog here.
