Pathetic blogger, that I am...

Yes, I have been one of those pathetic blogs. I have been real lax in my posting, but life has been hectic and I just did not want to sit down without time to post a decent post.
So much has been going on, since my March 17th post. The rest of that week was spent in getting everything together for my Fort Smith visit to Stringtown Yarn and Fiber to meet Denise with the Traveling Shawl. It was my first time to meet Denise face-to-face. We had been emailing back and forth for a long time before we came up with the Traveling Shawl idea. Here is Denise showing me the shawl. She was interviewed by her local paper. Check out the article here. Here is a picture of Denise petting a lovely skein of yarn.
It was my first time to see the shawl since it left AR in September of 2008. She has grown into a lovely thing. We are now at our 32nd state. Which means what you are looking at is a shawl that has been knitted on by 31 knitters from 31 different states. She is now in CO with Leslie. This is Elizabeth, the owner of Stringtown Yarn & Fiber at 11 North 3rd Street, Fort Smith AR. It is was located in a downtown historic district. I have to admit that I was captivated by the charm of this shop. It was a perfect yarn store...comfortable, cozy, charming, and full of yarn!
Here are a few of the ladies who came to see the shawl. We enjoyed sitting and knitting. It was nice to see the face of some people I had been emailing on Ravelry. Hi, Anne and Anita!

So all that to say, I have had lots of opportunity to do road trip knitting. I finished my ZigZaginess Shawl. It is the one I was wearing in my visit to meet Denise. It is made in Jojoland Melody. I love the way the colors look. While at Stringtown Yarn and Fiber, I finished my remake of my Triangular Leaf Shawl. I wanted to redo it in Jojoland Melody. I loved knitting it and blocking and wearing it! These are perfect patterns for this yarn.

The beauty of blocking really works magic on lace knitting.

In case you are interested, the Traveling Shawl pattern is now up for sale. You can do purchase it several ways. You can go to our Traveling Shawl blog and click on our donation link, if you donate at least $5.00 and send me the donation confirmation to my email address on my profile page, I will email you the pdf....or you can purchase it on Ravelry. 100% Of this goes toward our donation goal. It is written with the option to do a scarf. Here is a photo of the scarf made using Jojoland Melody and a photo of the shawl made using Knitpicks Essential Sock yarn in the color Carnation. I still have much to tell you, but that should be sufficient for a few days. I can't wait to tell you what else I have been up to, working on, finished and trying to finish.

Hi, Kay! It was great to see you, Denise, and the shawl at Stringtown. I hadn't really wanted to make a shawl before, but now I'm inspired and already have the yarn for one.
