July is one of those months that just steamrolls me --4th of July holiday, Michael b-day, Jennifer's b-day, Nancy's b-day, my b-day, our anniversary, then preparation for our KY family reunion. It is just a sensory overload. My friends that know me very well, know that I get overwhelmed by this kind of thing.
This year is no different. It is even more so. This is the big 50 for me, Nancy and Jennifer--our year of Jubilee!
I have told Michael that I want a big party. I have made out the guest list, scanned the photso for the slide show and the rest is up to him. To some people 50 may not be a big deal, but to me it is. It is a milestone and as a milestone, it needs to be celebrated. I am not stressing over the number, although, I have no idea how I have gotten this old. I don't think of myself as 50 or of Michael as 51. I still feel like I am in my mid 40's. My body and face may tell a different story, but in my mind I don't consider myself 50.
Anyway, what have I finished knitting this week?
This is my workshop shawl. It is called Little Elizabeth and is knit in Mini Maiden, which is a silk/wool blend that feels like all silk. It is called Crimson, but is more like Raspberries with a little cream mixed in. I used some lovely slightly iridescent beads on it. Just a little bling!
This is a new design called Twilight Sonota. Michael named this one. It is a half circle shawl with beads in the Stockinette body, then a lovely bead-dripping lace edging. I hand painted this yarn in navy blue, mulberry and golden brown. It went perfectly with the variation of iridescent beads in those shades.
Weight loss this week -- .4 lbs. That means 5.2 lbs remaining to lose.

Woohoo! You will love the 50's, it is a great decade! Congrats on the weight loss goal. The rosy shawl is a hit; the wider pattern down the center of the point is my fav part! The other one is nice, too!
all of your projects are so inspiring, congrats on 50 and the weight loss!!!
